H. Watson Gowdy IV
Mr. Gowdy was born in the Upstate and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He graduated from Spartanburg High School in 2011, where he played varsity golf. Mr. Gowdy graduated from Clemson University in 2015.
After college, Mr. Gowdy attended Washington and Lee University School of Law. While there, he served as a student attorney for the Community Legal Practice Center, which provided free legal assistance to members of the local community in family law matters. He was also a member of the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Distinguished Lecture Series. He interned for Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough LLP in 2017, where he worked in Family Law and Civil Litigation. He graduated and received a Juris Doctorate degree in 2018.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Gowdy obtained a South Carolina real estate salesperson license and joined Brad Liles & Associates, where he assisted the Upstate in residential real estate sales for 5 years. His time in real estate helped him hone skills in negotiation, client advocacy, and service to the community. After becoming an attorney, Mr. Gowdy obtained his Guardian ad Litem certification.
As an attorney, Mr. Gowdy continues to advocate passionately for his clients. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in community events, supporting local businesses, and playing golf.
